Primary Goal
To move things forward at all costs, meet challenges head on, and overcome obstacles to press on to the finish line.
Understand The Driver
Drivers look for every opportunity to advance toward established goals and motivate the people around them to do the same. They are not intimidated by difficult circumstances and typically thrive in challenging situations. They have the ability to stay calm under pressure and be tenacious despite resistance or repeated failures.
- Drivers thrive in work environments that are goal-oriented and with plans are well-defined. They expect clear communication about next steps and deadlines, and are at their best when the work is difficult, challenging, or demanding, or it presents “impossible missions.” It is important to them to work for a company or organization where perseverance and persistence are rewarded.
- The work that Drivers do must come to an end or have a completion date or it will not suit them well. Positions where there is little room for personal advancement and roles or assignments that are too simple or mundane cause Drivers to lose motivation and do not incite optimal performance.
- Drivers who do not find work that provides advancement, challenges, and opportunities to bring significant projects to completion will be frequently discontent or bored. On the contrary, if they allow stress to build up or take on too much, they could become irritable with others and be prone to burnout. Balancing their need for the rush of overcoming obstacles with a healthy amount of pressure is key to long-term success for the Driver.
- If you are on a team with a Driver, you can expect them to be prepared, resilient, confident, courageous, gritty, bold, and the voice of reason in the midst of chaos. They are dedicated and diligent to run the race full of vigor, settling for nothing less than victory. You can count on them when it looks like the chips are down to rise above and help drive a team to accomplish all that was set before them.

Take the MCode Assessment“Finding out I am a Driver was very interesting. MCode told me who I was, why I was, and the reality of where I should be going. I was delighted to find that I was motivated to discover and harness unrealized potential, I want to exercise control and ownership (take responsibility) over what is mine (in Business terms) and that I can focus on driving through difficulties and disadvantages.
I refer to my MCode report every day, and this year, I have pressed the reset button to really focus on what MCode has highlighted and concentrate on what drives me. I have no hesitation in recommending MCode to anyone struggling to find their Why.”

“Not only has learning that I’m a Driver helped me understand what motivates me, it has shed light on why past decisions were great successes or head-scratchers.
Our business is a husband and wife web development team of two Drivers! Learning what motivates us has really helped us understand how we interact and informed our decisions about who we might want to add to our team next. Obviously, it will be based on their MCode!”
